The El Paso Chamber is hosting a delegation trip to San Diego to meet with experts and leaders who worked to develop and manage the State Route 11 (SR 11)/ Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project, a 21st century border crossing in the San Diego-Baja California region. This project was a joint effort between the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), as well as state and federal partners in the U.S. and Mexican government. This trip will provide a unique opportunity to learn more about their more modern land port of entry and technologies which has had a significant impact on fueling economic growth and binational trade in the region. Discussions during the trip will also focus on strategies to reduce wait times at border crossings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance regional mobility, and creating more resilient ports. We are working on an agenda to include visiting other mobility projects throughout the trip. An agenda will be provided to you in advance of the trip.
Once you register for the trip, you will receive a form to fill out so that we can begin to make accommodations on your behalf. Thank you!
Deadline to register is August 18th.
